Membership
We are so excited to officially launch our
Membership Programme
Chalk Musical Theatre Dramaturgy turns ONE YEAR old today. It’s been an amazing journey so far, thanks to the talented writers and partners we’ve worked with over the past 12 months.
Now, it’s time for Chalk to grow.
Chalk Membership is our way of responding to the ongoing needs of the musical theatre writing community. We want to offer more ways to support and foster writers, including events, resources, and discounts on script reports. We are increasing the space for musical theatre writers to play, learn, and grow.
Events
We are launching a series of events that invite challenging conversations for writers to explore topics they may not have experience with.
These include Collaboration with Marlow & Moss (SIX), Writing Queer with Lisa Kron (Fun Home) and Forristal & Clarke (Public Domain), Hadestown: Working on a Song with Ken Cerniglia (Hadestown Dramaturg) and Anaïs Mitchell (Hadestown Writer), and Creative Accessibility with Beth Hinton-Lever (Reasons To Be Cheerful), and Adam Pottle (The Black Drum).
Members can attend all of these events for free.
Resources
Members will also have access to our ongoing list of bespoke resources. These resources are designed by the Chalk Dramaturgy team in response to the most common pieces of feedback we give writers. Some examples of resources are: going from scene to song, guide to stage directions, and rules for world-building.
More
If that’s not enough, members will also receive discounts on script reports, free drop-in dramaturgy sessions, and become a part of this growing community.
